Port Orford’s growing but highly untapped economic functions are those related to tourism, recreation, and retirement. Our area has many unique characteristics which make it ideally suited for these activities.

We have retained our unique small town atmosphere, and large national
retailers are not currently in the vicinity of the community. However, Port Orford
does have limited services and, as in the past, the retail dollars are leaking from Port Orford to larger communities within the region and the state. This creates opportunities for enterprising individuals wanting to create a business here.
